The newest model of the Hylas 56 is one of the most successful works Herrmann Frere senior and already managed to get the prize boat of 2011 by the American magazine Cruising World. Ideologically it became the successor and further development of the Hylas 54, one of the best selling 50-foot yacht on the American market in the first decade of the present century. A unique feature of the boat was the introduction in the laminate of the shell is synthetic fiber Twaron (paraamino the fibre properties similar to Kevlar) that should greatly enhance the durability and survivability of its body. The boat is designed so that even a very long voyage without much effort could make just a couple of boaters. High (40%) the mass ratio of ballast to displacement provides excellent static stability of the yacht and ability long to carry full sail when the wind picks up. The internal volume of the boat in terms of capacity and convenience compete with the next class yachts — the 65-foot length.
