the Builder Moonen Yachts originates from the Dutch company Scheepswerf de Ruiter, founded in 1963 by the brothers de Ruyter, but its current name it received only in 1981, when the bankrupt company has acquired Stans Munna.

For reliable and high quality Moonen yachts, which are built from steel and aluminum, has the nickname "pocket superyacht", as in length they do not exceed 45 m (production ceiling shipyard — 50 m, 500 gross tons), but for comfort, innovation and technical execution are not inferior to the ships of much greater length. br>
Moonen offers several types of projects, including traditional displacement yacht Explorer, as well as a yacht based on the fast displacement hull. The shipyard prefers to adhere to the classical canons and not too to experiment with the design, ignoring the momentary fashion. Due to this, custom and semi-custom yachts Moonen are in high demand on the secondary market and is very slowly coming down in price. br>
One of the most famous recent projects, the company became the 137-foot superyacht >Sofia III, designed in conjunction with Dutch designer Rene van der Velden and carries on Board minisubmarine. br>
In 2014, after the change of the principal owner, Moonen has introduced a new line of Caribbean, which includes steel yachts from 26 to 38 m.
