Concorde Marine is a Detroit, Michigan based builder of high-performance motor yachts.
Founded as an extension of the manufacturing enterprise Concorde Manufacturing – a leading fabricator of lightweight composites and injection molded parts for the U.S. automotive and aerospace industries – the company was established in 2003 by Michigan-based industrialist and entrepreneur Gilbert Villarreal. Originally headquartered in Oak Harbor, Washington, the company re-located to Detroit in 2013.
As original co-creator of the highly acclaimed VL-Destino, an advanced four-door sedan built on the Fisker Karma platform but equipped with a supercharged LS9 V8 engine, Villareal has a long track-record for bringing innovative new products and limited edition “collector’s items” to the luxury market.
Concorde founder Gilbert Villarreal maintains a unique approach to manufacturing.
Influenced by lean manufacturing techniques observed early in his career as a project manager at Boeing, Villarreal has established distinctive and highly modularized manufacturing approach, characterized by the Wall Street Journal in 2013 as a combination of “resourcefulness, commonsense, blowtorch engineering, and love for the [craft].”
Through Concorde Marine, Villarreal combines decades of experience in the Detroit auto industry with megayacht credentials gained as former owner of Northern Marine, the Anacortes, Washington based shipyard where Villarreal managed large construction projects including the 130' M/Y Magic and the 152' M/Y Lia Fail.
Concorde Marine is committed to building top quality, world-class motoryachts.
With a dedicated team of engineers and craftsmen on-site at its Michigan facility, each Concorde Marine Sport Yacht is meticulously yet efficiently assembled, overseen with the same level of care, passion, and attentiveness to detail present in all Villarreal branded products.
Developed in collaboration with the award-winning design studio Setzer Yacht Architects, the Concorde Sport Yacht series combines the luxurious finish and comfortable accommodations of a large custom motor yacht, the speed, responsiveness, and fishing ability of a performance Sportfisher, and the versatility in propulsion and energy management of a hybrid cruiser.
