Additional Dimensions and Other Neat Facts about WBSS 52-05

  • The L.O.A. of the 52' West-Bay SonShip model is 57' 6" including the bow pulpit and the swim grid. The yacht is 52' from stem to stern.
  • The "height above the waterline" is 14' to the top of the venturi windshield. The aluminum radar arch is hinged and may be lowered as may be the Bimini Top if cruising under low bridges is required.
  • "Timeless" is registered in the Bahamas and is "duty paid" there. The yacht is American owned and the U.S. Customs duty has been paid so that the vessel may be offered for sale to U.S. citizens while in U.S. waters. The advantage of the current registry is that the owner of "Timeless" may return to cruise the waters of the Bahamas endlessly and purchase a Bahamas cruising permit at a substantial discount. If U.S documentation is prefered then this is easily accomplished by surrendering the Bahamian registration.
  • Fuel capacity upgraded to 1000 gallons from standard 600 gallons when boat was built new.

Brokers Remarks

"Timeless" represents a terrific and rare opportunity to own one of the the most exceptional cruising motor yachts ever built in this size class. The West-Bay SonShip 52/58 series features 3 staterooms/2 full heads, well-appointed galley-up, and fully equipped pilothouse. Additionally, these design features when coupled with the walk-in engine room with full standing headroom, walk-around side-decks with extended safety handrails and spacious flybridge with helm station, Bimini Top and lounge seating for up to 10 persons, produce a safe and most comfortable cruising platform.

The yacht's shallow draft, performance, economy of operation and low maintenance exterior produces a vessel particularly well-suited to the south Florida/Bahamas cruising environment.

"Timeless" is hull # 52-05 and is the last of the 52' pilothouse motor yachts to have been built. West-Bay's commitment to engineering excellence, quality of construction and pride in the fit and finish of the yacht's oak hardwood interior is obvious. The SonShip 52 was built from the same mould as was the venerable West-Bay SonShip 58 and so carries the same beam measurement (17' 1"). The layout of the 52' SonShip pilothouse motor yacht is essentially the same as in the 58' model..

Walk-thru

Starting aft, a transom door leads forward from the fiberglass swim grid which is moulded into the hull onto the aft-deck/cockpit area. From here, side-decks lead forward to the foredeck and bow. Entrance to the walk-in engine room with full standing headroom is gained through a hatch forward and dual doors opening outwards allows wide open access to the Salon. These double saloon doors are great for opening up the yachts interior to the scenic outdoors or, for when entertaining aboard. The salon is finished in oak hardwood and upon entering, a most comfortable U-shaped leather couch or sofa is situated to the port side. Coral reading lamps are placed in both corners of the couch and a beautifully built and finished teak Hi Lo coffee/dining table is set out in front of this. Occasional chairs enable this table to be comfortable for 4-6 persons for dining. Across to the starboard side is a most comfortable leather and teak reclining chair w/ side table and reading lamp and forward, a 42" flat screen SAT TV sits atop of an oakwood crafted storage cabinet. Proceeding forward from the salon and up 3 steps, a stairway on the starboard side leads up to the forward section of the flybridge. A Dinette with a folding leaf can accommodate 2-4 for dining and is just forward on the starboard side and the "U" shaped and fully equipped Galley is across to the port side. The pilothouse with centerline helm is forward most and port and starboard side-doors lead out to the side-decks. Forward and down starboard side from the pilothouse are the accomodations areas featuring 3 staterooms and 2 full heads. Aft in this area is the Master's Stateroom with en-suite head and stall shower, washing machine and 220V clothing dryer, spacious cedar lined hanging lockers and queen- size bed on centerline. A companionway leads forward from the Master Stateroom, a Guests Stateroom with over/under single bunk berths is to port side. The Guests head with stall shower is across to starboard and the VIP Stateroom with a double bed on the centerline, good hanging locker storage space and plenty of drawer storage space is all the way forward in the vessel.

The Flybridge is accessible both fore and aft and from the interior and exterior. All the way forward on the "command bridge" the helm is on the centerline. Seats for the helmsperson and for a companion are just aft and on portside a cushioned "L" shaped settee seats two persons comfortably. A cushioned deck mounted FrigiBar refrigerator/freezer chest is installed just aft of the settee and the new Bimini Top provides good shade for this area of the flybridge. Aft on the flybridge on starboard side another "L" shaped settee has been built-in. This settee is cushioned and has a small pedestal mounted cocktail table in front. A liferaft (requires recertification) housed inside a canister is mounted on the deck also in this area.
