2002 Beneteau First 36.7
"Carmen" is a very clean and well maintained example of Beneteau's popular cruiser-racer. The First 36.7 was designed by Farr Yacht Design to be both comfortable and fast, with a sleek profile and sleeping accommodations for up to 8 people. The 3 cabin layout affords much more room than you would expect on a 36ft boat while still allowing for a respectable galley and very nice navigation station.
She was fully optimized for IRC in 2002 by Checkmate sailing and has been won Scottish Series twice and several class wins at West Highland week with the overall win in 2015 and a second at Dublin regatta in 2013.
"Carmen" is equipped with an impressive inventory of sails for both racing and cruising. Her current owner has been very particular about maintenance including replacing the engine in 2015 which shows when viewing the boat.

Designed in accordance with European RCD and CE certification,these regulations ensure that the First 36.7 incorporates the minimum safety requirements including:
Safety and protection of persons on board.
Durability of structures. Stability and safety. Safety when manoeuvring. Fire protection. Protection of the environment and reduction of engine emissions.
The hull is single-skinned laminated GRP. A structural inner moulding with unidirectional fabric is bonded and laminated to the hull. Its structural role is important as it takes and absorbs the stresses at pressure points (chain plate tie rods, keel,rudder etc.) spreading these and thereby guaranteeing reduced strain on the hull.The surface to the inner hull makes cleaning easier and provides a better finish.
White Gelcoat finish
The deck is balsa sandwich construction (glass fibre, balsa, polyester resin) for an enhanced strength/weight ratio and for good thermal and sound insulation. A roughened non-slip surface increases safety over all areas of movement on deck. An inner deck moulding is sealed to the deck to round off the finish. -
HULL / DECK JOINT
Solid wood toe-rail bonded and screwed in place to form the hull/deck joint. This assembly technique ensures water-tightness of the hull / deck joint and provides safety during movement on deck.
The keel deep draught is lead. To improve their durability the keels are given an anti-corrosion treatment and improved finish before assembly using epoxy based coatings and paint.The keel is fixed to the hull with a system of stainless steel screws and backing plates.
