The Cabo 40 Express features the best of amenities such as a second helmchair on the starboard side of the command bridge and a comfortably-upholstered, forward-facing, L-shaped settee to port. Down the companionway to starboard of the helm station is the salon, which features the fine joinery, fabric and upholstery for which Cabo is so often noted. The genuine teak and holly sole is a nice touch, and the signature inlaid-teak grillwork on the cabinet doors assure good ventilation in the cabinetry. The saloon is laid out with a convertible L-shaped leather settee to starboard that has a fold out convertable bed and the back rest folds up to make and additional bunk. and a similarly-shaped, practically-configured Corian counter-topped full galley to port just aft of the head compartment. The roomy head features a fully-enclosed shower stall, freshwater toilet, molded Corian surfaces, a tile floor and an excellent use of available space. Forward through a privacy door is the master stateroom, which features a pedestal queen berth with a very comfortable mattress, Sole flat screen TV, cedar-lined hanging lockers, plenty of functional drawers and the fine fabrics and upholstery finishes.
When entering the main cabin the spacious area is unmatched in the Express market with the high quality workmanship of wood and decor. The main salon includes a comfortable ?L? shaped lounge, AM/FM/CD/DVD system, recessed halogen lighting, superb teak joinery finished in CABO¹s signature satin varnish with cross-hatch vents in the cabinet doors, and selection of top quality interior fabrics and coverings. A full head is to port conveniently located immediately adjacent to the stairs leading down from the command deck.

The functional galley area includes a ceramic two burner cooktop recessed into the Corian® countertop; a convection/ microwave oven; Nova cool ac/dc refrigerator and freezer; a polished deep sink, storage compartments and silverware drawers throughout; countertop lighting and ample GFI protected electrical outlets. Functionally and storage is abundent.

Palm Beach pod mounted single lever electronic controls promise responsive and easy maneuverability. Comfortable Stidd helm and Stidd companion seat include adjustable footrests. It is little wonder that CABO Yachts are found virtually everywhere in the world where great game fish are pursued. Designed from the keel up with the specialized needs of sport fishermen in mind. Nowhere is this better illustrated than in the cockpit of this 40 Express.
Fishability. In every CABO fishability is both a focus and a critical component. To that end, the huge cockpit of this Express includes a bait prep center with a gas actuated spring supported lid covering the sink, a rigging board, an ice box and voluminous tackle storage. A 48 gallon circulating bait tank with a large drain is molded into the transom. Large capacity insulated fish boxes have gasketed positive latching lids with gas actuated spring supports, removable liners and macerator pumps on the drains are built into the cockpit sole. The padded cockpit coaming and CABO's precise non-skid deck pattern provide stability for the working angler. Gaff and tag stick holders are properly positioned under the gunwales and 7 rod holders as upgrade. Self bailing cockpit scuppers, a transom gate and outward opening tuna door with ope and closed locks, fitted with CABO's beefy custom made hinges, and fresh & saltwater washdown systems add to the utility of the cockpit fishing space. CABO includes an aluminum reinforcing plate molded in the cockpit deck for mounting a fighting chair (Blue Water Fighting Chair with Side Strikers, Gimbals, Footrest, Ladder back and Rocket Launcher. There are functional step boxes in the forward port and starboard corners of the cockpit to allow easy access to the side and foredecks.
Engine Room. Since its inception, CABO Yachts has been widely recognized for their emphasis on superb engineering and engine room ergonomics as well as their meticulous wiring and mechanical layout. All that and more is neatly incorporated into this 40 Express. Twin Caterpillar C-12 705hp diesel engines nestle into the glistening white gelcoat finished engine spaces, with plumbing, wiring, shafting and control cables neatly run, secured and easily accessed. ZF transmissions with trolling valves transfer engine power to the shafts. Attention to detail is clearly evident throughout the engine room, from the installation of the genset and easy to clean gelcoat finish throughout, to the rubber or polymer grommetted protectors found on any wire running through a bulkhead. Aircraft grade braided stainless steel fuel lines, clearly labeled plumbing valves, switches and wiring runs are found throughout.
As comfortable and well designed as the interior is for cruising, this boat was built to fish. She is certainly large enough to head to the Canyons with the "big boats" (but burning less than half the fuel), yet small enough to manage single-handedly. She is rigged and ready to fish. Some of her equipment includes:
Full Pipewelders tuna tower with Hard Top Buggy Shade, electronics, and controls
Rupp double spreader outriggers
Center rigger
Blue Water Fighting Chair with Foot Rest, Rocket Launcher and Optional Backrest
LED Lighted Live bait tank well with plexiglass window
Bait prep station
Raw and fresh water wasdowns
Transom door
Two (2) large macerated fishboxes in cockpit sole
(3) Rod storage lockers in cabin, 1 Stand-up in Main Salon (lighted). (1) Forward in Stateroom to Port and (1) in Stareroom to Starboard.
