MECHANICAL
Beta Marine H50, 50hp inboard diesel engine fitted new in 2011, current engine hours are 217. Shaft drive to 3 blade feathering propeller. New cutlass bearing & prop anode in 2019. BOW THRUSTER Sidepower bow thruster with cockpit controls.
ELECTRICAL
Alternator charging to 12v battery system with 4 x 12v batteries. 240v shore power with Sterling battery management system. Ampair wind turbine on pushpit.

Sestrel compass, B & G Hydra 200 instruments including log, echo sounder and wind. Seavoice VHF radio with cockpit speaker, hand held VHF radio, windvane at masthead, Raymarine autopilot (fitted 2016 - £4800), Standard Horizon CP500 chart plotter, Furuno radar, Navtex, Valsat & Koden GPS, Furuno radar, clock and barometer, navigation lights, steaming light, tri-colour masthead light and anchor light.

(Main, foresail & staysail valetted & repaired in 2018 and checked again at the end of the 2019 season). Spare yankee (not checked not used for some time). New running rigging 2013.
DOMESTIC
Her galley has a Plastimo gas cooker with 2 burners, oven and grill, refrigerator, extractor fan, pressurised hot and cold water supply (hot water via engine calorifier or 240v). Two separate heads compartments with showers. Brown velour upholstery. ACCOMMODATION 6 berths in 3 cabins including 2 vee berths in the separate forward cabin (which can be converted to a double berth with in-fill), her saloon has two single settee berths plus 2 pipe cots, with aft quarter cabin having a double berth to port.
OWNERS COMMENTS
"Swell A Rival" was purchased by her present owners in 1986, her second owners from new. She has proved to be a wonderful offshore family boat, with trips to Holland and Brittany as well as UK coastal cruises. She has been based at Bradwell Marina in Essex, laid up ashore during winter months and afloat on a pontoon berth in the Summer. Due to Covid and owners' advancing years, she was not launched last season, nor this. Her sails were valetted in 2019 and are ready to hoist, her engine was renewed and 2011 and has only run 217 hours, serviced each year until 2019/20. A modern Raymarine autopilot has recently been fitted (2016) and she is Coppercoated below the waterline. She would benefit from some external cleaning but her interior remains very good. These fine boats are rarely available and are ideal offshore cruisers or stable family boats.
