ACCOMODATIONSTraveller's interior is well suited for local or offshore cruising with good sea berths, functional galley, excellent storage, and forwar dfacing nav station. From the cockpit, one steps over the bridge deck, through the teak-trimmed companionway and down the fourstep companionway ladder. The hand crafted teak interior was sanded and refinished in 2004 during the refit. It is solidlyconstructed with oiled teak bulkheads and varnished, solid teak trim. For strength, and ease of access, Traveller is “stick-built” withall interior joinery being tabbed and glassed to the hull and overhead deck. Fiberglass liners have only been used in the heads.The overhead is off-white, padded vinyl panels, secured in place with teak battens-easily removed for access to deck hardware andwiring. Interior coachroof sides are white laminate. Corners are rounded, and counter/table edges fitted with fiddles. Cabinet doorsare fitted with positive elbow catches. Hull side ceilings are o f Alaskan Yellow Cedar and the cabin so le 5/16” thick teak and holly on plywood. Insulating foam is glued to accommodation space hull sides to prevent condensation and heat loss. A forced air diesel cabin heater will allow year-round usage in higher latitudes. The Robert H. Perry designed interior layout is typically functional and livable. Starting forward is the forecabin with access to the chain locker, “V” berth, an d storage lockers. Next aft to port is a head compartment with basin. Proceeding aft through the mainbulkhead is the main salon with straight settee to starboard, “L” shaped settee to p ort, an d fold-down dining table new in 2004. The very large “U” shaped g alley is to p ort an d a forward facing nav station is to starboard. Aft through a privacy door is the master stateroom with queen-sized quarter berth to port and enclosed head with separate shower stall to starboard.The forward cabin/guest stateroom features a “V” berth measuring 6’ 5” lo n g by 5’ 9” wide aft with a 4" Polyfoam mattress. An infill fills the notch for use as a double. Below this berth are storage bins and a holding tank. Shelves are located outboard below the deck edge. There are yellow cedar strips hull side. To port is a chest with three drawers and to starboard and aft is a bureau with three shelves and a tall hanging locker. The main salon is aft of the main bulkhead and large enough to entertain a crowd or sleep two crew in the settees while sailing offshore. Headroom measures 6’ 4”. Th e starboard settee measures 6’ 3” long an d the port a whopping 7’ 1” long. The port settee uses an infill board and cushion to make this into a double berth. Storage shelves are to port, outboard of the settee with removable fiddles and storage bins are located under this settee. Stainless steel water tanks are located beneath the starboard settee and port settee “L”. To starboard are bookshelves forward and two shelf lockers aft. A teak trimmed ring frame providessignificant structure and visible separation between the salon and galley/nav station. To port is the large “U”-shaped galley. Head room in the galley measures 6’ 3”. Countertops are white laminate an d surrounded by teak fiddles. There is amp le storage in cabinets and drawers. The gimballing Force Ten three burner propane stove is outboard and protected by a stainless steel crash bar fitted with two padeyes for a belt strap. Three storage cabinets are outboard along the hull side, below the sidedecks. The deck underside, above the stove is lined with stainless steel. Pots and pans are stored in a locker below the stove/oven. Along the aft bulkhead an d close to centerline for drainage while heeled is a double stainless steel sink measuring 10”wide by 14” lo ng by 9” deep. To starboard is the forward facing navigation station. The top opening chart table h as a 4” deep chart drawer. Communication and navigation electronics are mounted on the forward bulkhead and above the switch panel. Paneled teak bifold doors provide privacy to the aft cabin. Two drawers are located beneath and two cabinets are above the bunk. The large aft cabin berth measures 6’ 6” lo ng by 4’ 6” wide. On centerline the teak companionway with rabbitted tractiongrooves in the treads lifts out to access the engine. The aft head is to starboard and well-situated relative to the companionway. Wet foul weather gear can be quickly removed and hung in the separate shower stall before proceeding forward. Towel bar and ring are provided and storage shelves are outboard of the head. Aft is the separate stall shower with curtain closure, hot/cold shower spray nozzle on hose with hanging bracket, removable teak shower grating, teak seat, grab bar, and numerous hooks for foul weather gear. There is 1/2" thick foam insulation on the inside of the hull. Traveller was complete overhauled in 2004 including full exterior Awlgrip paint to hull sides, decks and cockpit. The decks were coated with Griptex by Awlgrip non skid. The rig was redesigned by Robert Perry to most currentstandards and rig reconstructed to new design including double swept back spreaders. The bow has generous overhang to keep anchor chain and mooring clear while the stern is a reverse transom for maximum waterline length. There is a large lazarette for storage to starboard in the cockpit.
