The Goderich 35, also know as the Huromic 35, is a steel hulled cutter/sloop rigged sailboat designed by Ted Brewer. Christina Rose was fabricated by Huromic Metal Industries in 1978 in Goderich.
Christina Rose went through an extensive several year refit in the early 2000's totaling north of $300,000. The refit involved removing the entire interior, including the engine sandblasting the hull, epoxy coating the hull interior, installing a new interior, and Awlgrip paint job. The interior refit was done by Scorpio Yachts featuring gorgeous woodwork and Corian countertops.
Improvements made since 2016 include:
New B&G electronics, including chartplotter, speed, depth, temp, autopilot, and radar. AIS installed, all lighting systems updated to LED.
Winches upgraded to Harken for foresail sheets and furlers, furlers overhauled, and all running rigging replaced.
Mast and Boom were stripped completely and repainted with Awlgrip paint.
2021 major additions include: New main sail from Rolly Tasker with 3 reefing points. Integrated swim platform and swim ladder, Radar dome upgraded to Halo 20+, and wood dinghy capable of being split in two for easier storage and handling.
