"The Michel Dufour Arpege 30 has proved to be a true classic with over 1500 produced- the most successful boat ever built by Dufour. It has a great reputation for easy handling and fast passage- making.
The Arpege beam is wider than the equivalent Contessa, but this in no way impedes excellent pointing ability as she is a competitive racer. When not racing , the generous storage capacity, large saloon that seats 6 around the very stable removable table and very good headroom provide comfort when cruising. Indeed it is a very good comfortable week-ender for those living some distance from her mooring. The current owner and his family used this Chichester Harbour-based yacht for weekends for a period when living in London.
The Arpege is an excellent blue water boat with a great reputation for easy handling and fast passage making. Le Reve has made a number of trips to various French and Channel Island ports. The present owners have had her since 1980.
There is a very good description of the Arpege, showing her sailing and her spacious interior, including how to convert two of the saloon berths into a double.

Sails by Arun are in excellent condition being washed and serviced annually. The furling genoa has a new UV strip. There is a blue cruising chute. Winches are vintage Lewmar being original to the classic yacht.
The boat has been re-engined with a powerful Yanmar 3GM30 diesel for smooth and reliable performance. Cutler Marine of Emsworth installed and maintain the Yanmar annually.
The hull is in perfect condition and has recently been professionally painted in navy blue – 8 coats.
Le Reve sleeps 6. Her interior is divided into three compartments. She has a good galley aft behind closed doors to the saloon. The galley includes a gimballed 2-burner gas stove. A divided sink, storage for dishes, glasses, cutlery and condiments with a large cupboard for pots and pans etc, and a spacious built-in “fridge” under the large teak chart table with lifting top. This provides plenty of space for the safe-keeping of full-sized charts. There is a long bookshelf next to the marine radio. The heads are behind closed doors in the forward compartment, which also provides spacious storage for clothing, supplies, sails, lines and life-jackets and fenders.
Le Reve is currently ashore in a cradle at Bosham, West Sussex. This is within the beautiful, unspoilt ANOB-designated bird-watchers dream of Chichester Harbour. There are a dozen sailing clubs in the harbour – all with a friendly family atmosphere."
