The Baltic 39 was a medium displacement performance design aiming at general all-round sailing with a slightly greater emphasis on upwind characteristics than earlier Baltic Yachts models. The design incorporated a high ballast ration and a high aspect ratio fin keel or Centerboard. The accommodation layout of the Baltic 39 was generous for a boat of this size.

The Baltic 39 was one of the first serial production yachts that were designed, and performance evaluated using computer programs. Full VPP studies were executed resulting in both polar plots and performance in numbers. In addition to producing a good basis for design optimizations, the result from the computer studies also gave racing clients polars and performance numbers representing valuable targets for racing.

The Baltic 39 Is a sea sailor built as an IOR racer of the very best Finnish quality, which with its sublime sailing characteristics and classic lines, is a pleasure to watch and to be on board. This is truly an extremely beautiful, safe and comfortable long-distance sailor, where the crew never has to doubt the ship's ability.

Mystical is currently hauled out at a top notch boatyard having new bottom paint put on and a few maintenance items address including servicing all bildge pumps and seacocks and replacing the B&G windvane and Masthead light.
