The moment you walk in, this striking catamaran will feel like home, from the large galley kitchen with a deep double sink, to the 3 burner propane stove to prepare those delicious meals while you look at dolphins and seabirds.
Designer Derek Kelsall is a multihull legend and the first person to cross the Atlantic on a multihull. Derek also owned a boatbuilding yard which produced several round the world racing yachts. For the last few decades he has been on the forefront of multihull design with many designs currently in production.
The Watercats 46ph is a unique yacht, the embodiment of the owners' lifetime of boatbuilding, cruising and liveaboard experiences on multihull sailboats.
For their ultimate cruising yacht, the goal was to produce a cruising sailboat designed to voyage anywhere in the world in safety, seaworthiness and unparalleled liveaboard comfort. Each piece of equipment was also viewed through a lens of how it could be removed for maintenance if needed.
Some production catamarans require a major deconstruction to replace aging aluminum fuel tanks or remove an engine. This is not so with the Watercats 46ph. The fiberglass fuel tanks are custom made and easily removed if ever needed.
The engines and generator are separate from the living quarters and can be removed with onboard lifting points or a dockside crane, without going through the living quarters. Very easy to access and maintain.
Wiring is easily accessible and not hidden behind non-removable panels. All this makes maintenance easy and secure.
The boat was built using a thick fiberglass, filled with Dicvinicel foam all over and coated entirely in Polyester per Derek Kelsall’s plans, then below the waterline there were applied 3 layers of interlux epoxy coating. During the last haul out in December 2019 the bottom was painted as well.
This catamaran is a mere 19,000lbs, a very light cat to save fuel cost and most importantly add performance and comfort. The 1200 sq feet of extra heavy Dacron sails which were inspected in 2022 and provide the ultimate cruising experience. For those days when the winds are challenging there is also a 600ft asymmetrical spinnaker.
She is light on the waves and fast, yet responsive, a true joy to sail and cruise in. This yacht is a must see to appreciate all that she provides.
HAPPY FEET is a Bluewater Passage-maker. Stored in Fresh Water Most of its Life. It’s Never been chartered, and had one owner most of her life which kept her in freshwater!
There is also a Bluewater Baby Dinghy w/ 1yo Tohatsy 20 hp Outboard and Bimini for sun protection. This catamaran stands out as one of the best built bluewater passage boats ever built.
From the dock you will notice the saloon has the ruggedness of a commercial vessel, with sturdy aluminum frame windows. There are seven windows that open on the sides and rear.
Coming through the saloon, you will notice that you really have 360 views all around, and with 7 windows that allow fresh air in. A Very spacious home size kitchen/galley to port and opposing dinette to starboard, make for a large saloon that even has an indoor helm.
Not just a Nav Station, but a real helm with a captain's chair. There's a door in the front of the saloon that leads to a second cockpit that accommodates 6 guests with a second helm.
There is also the incredible forward cockpit, allowing for everyone to be in the action while sailing. And it's far back enough from the bows that spraying isn't a concern. You see something like this in larger million dollar performance catamarans. And this one has seating for 6 guests!
Since it was never charted and is fully ready to go, you and your family will be incredibly protected and safe on your adventures. She is very unique because of the number of redundancies in her design.
For example there are multiple ways of water generation, one is the very powerful yet quiet water maker and the entire roof acts as a water catchment which fills the two 80 gallon fresh water tanks in less than 30 minutes during rain.
Everything has been thought of and with a few adjustments she can be the perfect catamaran for you and your family or business for years to come. We look forward to showing it to you whenever you are ready.
The rear windows can remain open when raining due to the cockpit overhang. The forward windows are fixed for bluewater safety. For fresh air you have the forward cockpit door that can also stay open protected by the bimini.
Another interesting feature is the center pod which breaks waves and delivers more flotation on a wave. It's where the diesel tanks are, and plenty of room to double the current diesel capacity if desired.
