The Contessa 26 was designed as an ocean-going cruising boat and has earned an enviable reputation as just that. In 1987 Tania Aebi completed a solo circumnavigation in a Contessa 26. She was 18 years old when she cast off on VARUNA in 1985 from New York City and 21 years old when she returned. Many other Contessa 26's have logged thousands of offshore miles.
RELATIVE RISK has a 1989 Universal 10 hp diesel, a set of two-year-old sails, newer bronze opening ports, and a recently soda blasted and epoxy-barrier-coated bottom. She appears to be in excellent condition. She's on a mooring easily accessible via launch. Her owner has decided to retire from sailing.
