Designed by Chuck Paine and built at the Clark Island Boatworks in St. George Maine, (Chuck actually was part of the build crew!) Harry Tabard (now Ithaka) is the forerunner to the legendary Paine designed Cabo Rico 42.
Circumstances change and I must sadly part with what is undoubtedly the finest blue water boat on the West Coast, and possibly in the US. This is a boat that is as capable as she is beautiful, completely restored down the smallest detail and ready to go anywhere in the world today.
Comfortable and smooth, with a knife-entry that slices through waves, a long fin encapsulated lead keel and solid skeg rudder, Ithaka sails like a dream. The cockpit has complete control with a flexible cutter rig for sail options, a boom furler for comfortable reefing and a full batten main delivering power and performance.
Extensive updates have brought her electrical and navigation systems up to 2022 standards offering the captain full awareness of the waters surrounding the vessel. Inside a new refrigeration unit, fresh water electric head, Force 10 3-burner stove and real teak interior offer comfort at anchor and safety at sea. For those interested, you can see the details (and pictures) of her refit and her life on the West Coast at www.sv-ithaka.com.
