I HAVE OWNED THIS 1985 BERTRAM 46.6' MK III SPORTFISH YACHT FOR THE LAST 12 PLUS YEARS AND PURCHASED THE YACHT FROM A FRIEND WHO HAS OWNED IT SINCE EARLY 2000’S. I AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE YACHTS HISTORY & OPERATION. ONLY ISSUES WE HAVE EVER HAD IS FROM NOT USING THE YACHT ENOUGH. WE HAVE FISHED THIS YACHT IN SOME OF THE LARGEST PAYOUT BILLFISH TOURNAMENTS ALONG THE TEXAS COAST THE PAST 10 + YEARS. THE POCO BUENO IN PORT O’CONNER TX. BEFORE TOURNAMENT WAS RETIRED, WAS LAST TOURNAMENT HOSANNA FISHED (WE WERE MINUTES FROM LANDING A 800 TO 900 LB BLUE MARLIN). THE YACHT HAS BEEN USED PERSONALLY ONLY, FISHING BILLFISH TOURNAMENTS IN AND AROUND TEXAS COAST. YACHT SUFFERED NO DAMAGE DURING THE INFAMOUS TEXAS HURRICANE AS CAN BE VERIFIED BY THE LACK OF ANY INSURANCE CLAIM DURING THAT TIME OR ANYTIME FROM THE YACHTS COMMISIONING IN 1986. I HAVE INCLUDED PICS OF HOSANNA IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE HURRICANE AS THE STERN WAS GENTLY LOWERED ONTO THE SAND BEACH NEXT TO MY CAPTAINS HOME IN SECURED COVE AS THE WATER SUBSIDED AFTER THE HURRICANE. WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS, WE HAD ANOTHER “HIGH TIDE” EPISODE & WERE EASILY ABLE TO FLOAT THE BOAT ABOUT 40’ AROUND THE CORNER TO HER NORMAL MOORING LOCATION. THE WINDS OR SOMETHING DID BEND THE PORT SIDE OUTRIGGER SLIGHTLY BUT DID NOT CREASE THE TUBING WHICH WILL ALLOW FOR A SIMPLE INEXPENSIVE REPAIR. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER DAMAGE TO HOSANNA FROM THE HURRICANE NOR DID SHE TAKE ON ANY WATER!
I HAVE ONLY USED THE YACHT FOR PERSONAL USE ALTHOUGH THE YACHT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR CHARTER! THIS YACHT HAS ALWAYS BEEN DEPENDABLE, MECHANICALLY SOUND WITH SUPER SOLID HULL WITH LOW HOURS ON STRONG 650 HP 892ti (TWIN TURBO) DETROIT DIESELS. IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP A YACHT THIS SIZE MOVING & OPERATING CONSISTANTLY WHICH I NOR MY CAPTAIN HAVE HAD THE OPPURTUNITY TO DO THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS! MOTORS HAVE BEEN SITTING IS WHY THEY NOW REQUIRE ADDITIONAL WORK & MAINTENANCE. I MIGHT CONSIDER TRADES & DON’T MIND PUTTING SOME MONEY WITH YACHT FOR NICE DIESEL PUSHER RV OR OTHER INTERESTING ITEMS.
REASON FOR SELLING: ORIGINAL MECHANIC THAT STARTED OVERHAUL UNFORTUNATELY PASSED AWAY FROM COVID PRIOR TO ENGINE OVERHAULS BEING COMPLETED. 2ND MECHANIC WAS UNDEPENDABLE & NEVER WOULD COMPLETE REASSEMBLY OF BOTH ENGINES. Moving forward and down, to starboard is the guest stateroom with twin bunk beds and full guest head with sink and shower. Across to port is the master stateroom with an entrance to the private head with full sink/shower. Moving forward to the V-berth is the VIP guest stateroom and hall bathroom/head. 1a) AN OPTION FOR ABOVE IS TO REPLACE EXISTING GENERATOR & INSTALL COMPLETELY NEW 14.5 KW-(120 VOLT/125AMP) ISUZU OR KUBOTA MARINE SELF-CONTAINED DIESEL GENERATOR WITH NEW SOUND/WATERPROOF ENCLOSURE, HEAT EXCHANGER, UNDERWATER EXHAUST, CONTROLS, EVERYTHING INCLUDED, FOR $9,000 PLUS EASY INSTALL. OR MY PLAN WHICH WAS TO HAVE BOTH GENERATORS SO YOU HAVE A REDUNDANT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHILE OUT AT SEA AT A TOTAL COST OF AROUND $12k.
2) FINISH REPAIRS/ASSEMBLY OF BOTH ENGINES.
3) YACHT IS DUE FOR NEW BOTTOM PAINT JOB.
4) OTHER MISCELLANEOUS MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
YACHT IS PAID FOR IN FULL & I HAVE ALL THE DOCUMENTS TO PROVE OWNERSHIP. YACHT IS DOCUMENTED THROUGH THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD.
BOTH 8V92TI TWIN TURBO DIESEL MAIN ENGINES HAD FULL (OUT OF BOAT) MAJOR OVERHAULS @3300 TOTAL HOURS. ENGINES NOW HAVE APPROXIMATELY 650 HOURS ON THEM SINCE MOH.
