Reluctantly, we are offering our 1983 Transpac 49 up for sale due to our advancing age and health conditions. We are the second owners (from 2005 to present) and have maintained her in tip top condition with many upgrades and an on-going maintenance program with an essentially open checkbook. She underwent an extensive refit in 2016 that included such major items as removing teak decks, recoring decks and mast steps, removing, rewiring, and painting both masts, repainting the entire exterior, and replacing the existing generator with a new 9KW Onan. Previous owners had customized the companionway steps and mid cabin berths to accommodate the safety of small children.
We have complete maintenance records for our period of ownership showing not only standard maintenance activities, but also all of the modifications, customizations, and additions to the boat. She’s not the fastest boat on the water, but is one of the most comfortable in all kinds of weather. She will take you anywhere you want to go and bring you back safely.
Sleeps a total of seven in three private staterooms plus a pilot berth in the saloon. Forward stateroom V-berth has storage underneath each berth, hanging locker, bookshelves, two opening ports and a large hatch for ventilation. Mid cabin has two berths arranged bunkbed style, washstand, hanging locker, ports and hatch for ventilation. Forward head is across passageway from mid-cabin and contains Raritan Marine Elegance head and Lectrascan, plus wash basin.
The saloon has a custom adjustable-height table with U-shaped seating to port (voluminous storage under and behind the seating), settee with pilot berth to starboard (freezer under settee), refrigerator, storage, and convection/microwave oven. There is also a hanging locker aft of the refrigerator area.
The nav station is in the passageway immediately aft of the companionway steps and hanging locker. It contains backup instrumentation, nav station, breaker panels for both AC and DC, access door to starboard side of engine, and a Uline ice maker.
The aft stateroom has a double/queen athwartship berth, numerous lockers and drawers, three transom windows, bookshelves, 3 opening ports and a large hatch for ventilation. The master head contains enclosed shower, wash basin, and Raritan PHII head with Lectrascan. Entrance to walk in engine room and generator is from this head.
