Cockpit
The cockpit of the 40 Cabo “Waterboy” is all business! Whether fishing, diving or cocktail cruising she has it all. Her 15’9” beam is very evident and there is tons of room to work and maneuver. Cockpit features include:
Helm deck
Two small steps up from the cockpit brings you to the climate-controlled helm deck. She is very comfortably appointed and offers great seating and views of all the action. There is an L shaped seating area to port. Across to stbd is a tackle storage center with a flat top. This spot is good for a great many things. I have seen it used as a bar, hors d'oeuvre serving, tackle and gear placement. Currently outfitted with custom cushions and utilized as a nice, elevated seat. Additional helm deck highlights include:
Helm Electronics
Full complement of upgraded navigation electronics including:
Lower Accommodations
Just to starboard of the centerline helm is a door that slides open to access the lower accommodations. Three steps down brings you in the salon/galley area. The Cabo interior finish is clean, simple, and like the rest of the boat best in class. The salon sole is solid teak and holly, a factory option, and all the cabinetry is solid satin finished teak. No high gloss milky veneer finishes like on other manufacturers.
To Starboard is the L shaped ultra-leather sofa with high gloss teak table. This table is removable and then the sofa transforms into a pull out bed and the back flips up to create a bunk. Also to stbd aft is a large stand up rod locker.
To port is the galley and aft is a full head. Features include:
Master Stateroom
“Waterboy” has a hard forward bulkhead and door giving separation and privacy to the Master Stateroom. Additional highlight and features include:
Tower
“Waterboy” has a custom tuna tower. All her electronics have been updated as well as canvas covers.
Tower Electronics: SIMRAD NSS 9” multi-function display, 2nd Radar in tower SIMRAD HALO radome, SIMRAD AP 24 Auto pilot, SIMRAD VHF radio, FURUNO RD 30, Engine tachs, Start and stop buttons, NEW Glendenning electronic controls
Engine Room
The engine room on the 40 Cabo has a glassed in gel coat liner that makes clean up a breeze. Fluids, oil or dirt does not get into the fiberglass filaments and texture like other inferior finished vessels. The engine room on “Waterboy” shows exceptional, just like the rest of the vessel. When turbos and cooling system parts were removed for 2022 service and updates, they were all repainted. (pictures avail) Engine room access is from a helm deck day hatch or the helm deck will tilt it up for huge access on two large hydraulic rams. Some of the engine room equipment and maintenance highlights include:

The 2004 40' Cabo Express “Waterboy”, is a fantastic example of the 40 Cabo Express Model. Her Michael Peters hull design sets the standard by which all other boats this size are measured. She has a sharp entry with a large bow flare for a soft dry head sea ride. Her wide beam, shallow draft, and partial keel make for a stable comfortable ride in both beam and following seas. Cabo build quality, fit, finish and electrical engineering is well-known as best in class. Immaculate is a word used far too loosely in yacht marketing, however, "Waterboy" lives up to that billing in every way. This 2004 40' Cabo Express has been given everything she has ever needed and more, during her 14 years of current ownership. No expense has been sparred in her upkeep. Records of MAN service, annual service and all underwater maintenance are available to qualified buyers. “Waterboy” has been used as a family fishing and cruising boat in the northeast. She spends her winters in an indoor heated facility. If you are in the market for a premium brand, highly customized 40 foot Express boat, your search should start and end with the 2004 40' Cabo Express “Waterboy”.
