Emma is arguably the highest value trimaran ever built by Quorning Boats prior to the recent production of the sensational Dragonfly 40. Quorning literature described the DF 1200 as the Flagship of the Quorning Fleet and was offered to buyers with many high value options tailored to buyer desires. Emma was the 15th version of the DF 1200, and had options that were not available for earlier produced boats. Emma’s original owner wisely selected special feature options that set her apart from all other existing DF 1200’s, in terms safety, efficiency, convenience, and initial value. To develop a reasonable market price for Emma and/or other DF 2000’s the analysis should acknowledge the “new boat” differences in high value special features. Carbon Furling Boom The most significant high value special feature is the Carbon Furling Boom that enables fast, safe, and convenient mainsail management. The main can be raised, lowered and, reefed (continuous reefing points) from all points of sail in most wind conditions - from the cockpit. The carbon boom shell protects the main sail from the sun when furled. Fixed Bow Sprit and Screecher Handling System The Fixed Bow Sprit is a late model DF 1200 structural upgrade that enhances the strength and functionality of the bow sprit for managing large flying sails. This upgrade is constructed with stainless steel and teak and was installed on only 2 DF 1200’s. This bow sprit enables permanent attachment of a unique Screecher Handling System which includes a continuous line furler, line, and a dedicated winch. Emma’s Aft Cabin Layout features a double berth, an enclosed head, and an enclosed closet and shelves. This special layout was installed in only one other DF 1200. Hull Paint. Emma’s above waterline hull finish was specially painted with Allgrip Marine Paint rather than typical Gelcoat for durability and beauty. Stainless Hull Rub Rail. Emma’s stainless rub rail gives significant protection of the above water finish when docking and operating in close quarters. The total initial cost for the above special features total ap“Emma”is a unique trimaran center cockpitdesign. All the sail handling controls are ledto this safe, comfortable, and secureposition in the middle of the boat. Protectedby a wrap-around windscreen, two electricAndersen winches on each side of the maincabin gives you the singlehanded power thepower for you to raise, adjust sheets, andhandle sails.
