She has the standard configuration with double bed in the aft cabin, the two armchairs in the saloon. There is an additional head in the fore-peak and an extra hatch to the fore-cabin.
The best way to capture the essence and appreciate the opulence of the Najad 400 is to recline in one of the comfortable arm chairs. Relax, gaze around at the mellow tones of the beautifully finished unstained mahogany joinery, enjoy the contrast with the off white headliner. Look at the details of the ventilated locker fronts, the lights inside each hanging locker, the row of red night lights at foot level, the quality of the electrical installation. It's details like these that cost the money and the 400 abounds in them. A boat to aspire to and be proud of.

Built and launched by Najad in 2001 and exhibited at the 2001 Southampton Boat show. Purchased by current owner.
Based at Hamble Point until sailed away in 2005 and now returning to the UK by same owner.
Yachting Monthly summed up the Najad 400 as follows; - Once again, Najad has proved that it is possible to have all the live-aboard comfort one could reasonably expect into an easily driven hull that performs better than one might expect. She is in no way a twitchy cruiser-racer, but she is responsive enough to offer genuine satisfaction to the trimmers and tweakers, well mannered enough to look after a less experienced crew, and so easy to handle that two people could take her anywhere. This is a thoroughly desirable boat and one that sets the bench mark for 40 ft cruisers.
