The Contender 44 Fish Around is built from the same hull mould as the game changing Contender 44 Step Tournament. It has all the performance and fishing prowess of the ST model while maintaining fishing space. It adds luxury and comfort with a small queen cabin in the console, complete with a bed, cooktop, microwave, sink, television, marine toilet, and shower.
In addition to the comfort down below, there is seating for three behind the console, a large double sunlounge located immediately ahead and bench seat in the rear port corner of the boat behind the console. A proper Sports Utility Design.
Like the smaller 39FA, Contender have stayed close to their roots with the boat remaining open and spacious with a 360-degree fishability at the centre of the design. The captain’s console can accommodate any number of screen set ups while still allowing full visibility ahead.
The Contender 44 Fish Around has a beam of 3.65 metres and a length of 13.36 metres, a fuel capacity of 2,138-litres and a 2,000 max hp rating. It is built for places like the Ribbon Reefs where a day of fishing for granders may be followed by a night at Lizard Island. Powered with triple or quad engine configurations the Contender 44FA excels in every category. Speed, performance, and reliability.
The Contender 44FA uses Contender’s twin Stepped Hull. The design decreases plaining time, flattens the bow lift of a conventional hull, and aids top end speed across the water as well as improving turning stability. Performance at its finest.
The helm seating consists of bench-like individually appointed seating with rod storage and tackle storage behind. There is also an option for a slide out esky/seat facing aft. More storage can be found under the seats.
A top the standard hard T-top, you can option up with a Custom fishing tower. These towers are built to get the captain up high and maintain an excellent visual over the working area of the boat. By getting above the water you find more fish and have a better chance of landing them.
