Speak Easy is an incredible 1979 Bertram 38 Convertible III. Owners keep Speak Easy in a covered well during the summer and in indoor storage in the winter.
Speak Easy is powered by twin Crusaders 454XLs. Owners use ethanol free gasoline. Oil, oil filters, and gasoline filters are changed every boating season. The hull is waxed every off season.
Speak Easy does come with a Raymarine GPS chartplotter and sounder, two VHF radios, a windlass, three refrigerators, an electric stove top, a Vacuflush head, a Black and Decker washer, and a canvas package, which includes a backdrop piece.
In 2020, the duck bill valves and bowl seal in the Vacuflush head were replaced, the aft bilge pump was replaced, many of the electrical outlets in the cabin were upgraded to GFCI, and the cabin lighting was upgraded. In 2021, the stuffing boxes were repacked, the washer was installed, and the VHF antenna was replaced. In October of 2021, the bottom was painted using Pettit Bio-Blue and Pettit Hydrocoat (which offers multi-season protection). In 2022, the size 8D starting battery and the size 31 house battery were replaced, the teak steps on the bridge ladder were stripped, sanded, and varnished, and the raw water pumps were replaced.
Owners have paid for the covered well for the upcoming 2023 boating season. If Buyer is interested in using that well for the 2023 boating season, that may be arranged.
