Tuggerknot is a USCG Registered trailerable pocket trawler pilot house which is capable of off grid living. This is a very unique build as it boasts many unique systems not seen in vessels her size. The entire OEM electrical system was removed, redesigned, and installed to be as efficient as possible in effort of running solely off the battery bank. In fact, the variable speed air conditioning is capable of running throughout the entire evening while the 330-watt solar panels are able to recharge during the day without ever having the annoyance of running a generator or main engine. The heart of monitoring electrical system is the Balmar SG200 which monitors both charging/discharging profiles, house and start voltages, state of charge, and system health. Her cable steering was removed and was converted to hydraulic steering along with an autopilot system. She was featured in Soundings Magazine August 2020 issue, which specifically featured the pocket trawlers amazing versatility of being a competent cruising vessel all while consuming a mere 3.5 GPH @ 16 Knots with top end speed reaching over 20 knots. The trailer has been custom designed for Tuggerknot which features oversized tires/dual axels along with electric over hydraulic braking system for smooth and safe towing.
