Norwegian shipyard Viknes was founded in 1988. Founder of Yang Sivertsen (Jan Inge Sivertsen) aims to build a comfortable boat that is equally suited for calm waters and harsh weather conditions, for work and leisure. The first model of the shipyard became a Viknes 770 Combi. The ship was graciously accepted on the market. In 1989, the platform was designed 770 770 Sjark. Then in 1996 there was one model of Viknes 900 Combi that allowed the shipyard to reach a wider audience and turned it into one of the leading brands in Norway.
In June 2000 at the shipyard suffered a fire that destroyed a large part of the production facilities and build logcock. However, the team of the shipyard did not retreat before difficulties and quickly launched a new production capacity. At the end of 2000, manufacturing went new model of Viknes 880, and six months later Viknes 1030. Then in 2004 launched a series of updated Viknes 770. Further, the size of yachts has increased the popularity among the customers too. In 2009 he appeared Sunbridge flybridge, and the new flagship Viknes 1080 in the embodiment of flybridge and without. Model of Viknes 930 in 2011 was nominated for the title of European motor boat of the year.
Then, in 2011, the company acquired a manufacturer of yachts Skilsø, and collection shipyards were extended for another two model of this brand — Skilsø 33 Sport and Skilsø 36. In 2015 appeared Skilsø 34 Panorama created from scratch. Panoramic Windows of this model loved the customers, and it was applied also for the Viknes 1080 Panorama.
Today, the shipyard produces boats and yachts with a length of 7-12 meters. Line Viknes is a universal high-speed boats >trawler type with a windshield with a reverse bevel. In line Skilsø includes high-speed cruise cabin >with hardtop or flybridge. The range of Workboats includes >work boat. Builder is flexible in responding to customer requests for adaptation of each boat to meet their needs.
All the Viknes production concentrated on the production site on the island of Askøy near Bergen. In the year, the shipyard produces about 80 boats. The company employs more than 60 artists, engineers and technicians.
