company History

the Norwegian company Viksund was founded in 1966, Vikanda Erling (Erling Viksund). This is a family production, originally based in the old barn, Bergen, became one of the pioneers of fiberglass shipbuilding in Norway. In 70s years, the shipyard was among the leaders of this industry in the country. In 80 Viksund was going through a tough time, but managed to recover in the next decade, focusing on motor yachts. However in 2012 due to adverse market conditions the company was forced to declare bankruptcy.

the Team at the shipyard, which was located on the island of Askøy, was 70 people, with annual production of around 80 vessels.

Lineup

Yachts Viksund is a fiberglass> a planing yacht with a fly bridge with a length of 9-12 meters and stationary motors Volvo. The basic model is Viksund 320, Viksund 340, Viksund 360 and Viksund 390, where number denotes length in feet multiplied by 10.

Features

the Boat Viksund was created with the expectation to operate in the harsh Norwegian climate, so they are in demand in the Nordic countries with difficult conditions of navigation, including Russia, Denmark, Iceland.

the Company was one of the first to pay attention to the environmental aspect of shipbuilding, and began to abandon the use of rare tropical wood species. In particular, any model can be ordered in absence of their application.
