Marina di S. Elmo - Alghero

Marina di Saint'Elmo is located in North-West Sardinia, a traditional crossroads for the navigation of merchants and pleasure boats throughout the Mediterranean. Positioned within the old port of Alghero, in the quiet southern end of the harbour, visitors will leave the marina and stroll along the promenades, sea wall and ancient ramparts that wrap around the charming old town. Majestic palazzi in the catalan gothic style line the streets animated with tourists and locals who gather in bars and restaurants.  The marina is modern, offering a very safe berth since it is protected by different structural elements (breakwater, St. Elmo's quay) reducing the effects of wind gusts, especially of the prevailing winds of the WNW (west - Maestrale): when there is maximum intensity ( about 70 knots), in the most exposed points, these factors reduce the wave height of 50%, while in the less exposed (about 70% of the total area of the Marina), the effects are almost zero. The Marina consists of five floating pontoons and offers approximately 300 berths. The berths are equipped with 63 pedestals whom supplyes drinking water and electricity up to 12 Kw. The marina is fenced; monitored by video surveillance system connected online 24 hours with a leader security guard company, operating in the area for several years.
