When designing a boat Farr 52 the task was to create a racing yacht that is able to effectively perform in regattas held under the rules of measurement for IRC and IMS rules. The boat turned out rather (but not extremely) lightweight, with low centre of gravity and a very powerful sail plan. The case shape is based on the experience of the boats Volvo Ocean 60 class and IACC. According to the statistics it turns out that on average, the Farr 52 "brings" to other IMS boats 50 25 to 50 seconds per mile and speed qualities to the 58-fotoforum racer. This is a serious racing machine, underdeck finishing, equipment and layout which is scarce and is performed in strict accordance with the minimum requirements of the applicable rules of offshore racing.
