As with his other counterparts in the high-speed range Performance, the Dufour 40E is a very good running characteristics, and its racing score on the IRC allows it to chase in pure racing (IRC) and cruise divisions. The yacht is characterized by a very rigid hull that improves handling in difficult weather conditions on a large wave. The interior of the boat is not as impressive as models of the GL series, but it looks a little more solid than the Beneteau First 40.7 — ideologically the closest model from the other major French manufacturer.
