The interior of the Amel 55 is finished in light oak with a durable laminate cabin sole and soft vinyl headliner and ceilings. All spaces are exceptionally bright as a result of numerous hatches, portlight and windows, including eight hull side windows that provide seated views to the outside. All windows are fitted with shades, including screens on those that open.
C’LUV is the two-stateroom version, featuring a well-appointed master stateroom in the stern and a spacious guest stateroom forward, both with walk around berths and their own ensuite heads. In the passageway to the aft cabin, there is a additional berth with lee cloth that makes a excellent sea berth. A guest/day head is located at the aft end of this passageway.
Starting forward, the guest stateroom’s size rivals master cabins on many comparably sized boats. The walk around island berth is located forward. There is a desk along the starboard side with swing out stool. Storage is ample in a large hanging locker and seven lockers above beneath the deck edge. There is also storage beneath the cabin sole and below the berth, which hinges up to reveal a large space for bulky items.
The forward ensuite head has its own separate shower stall. Teak treads cover the shower sump and a true sliding door separates the space. The head is located outboard with storage in lockers above. Aft of the head is a counter with a deep sink and single lever faucet. A large mirror is mounted on the bulkhead.
The saloon is configured in Amel’s typical arrangement with a deep dinette to port and a settee to starboard. The starboard settee features a fold down arm rest. Ample storage is available beneath the settees, below the cabin sole and in lockers and bookshelves. There is a retractable flat screen TV behind the settee to port that stows completely away. Four hull side windows – two in the saloon and two in the adjacent galley and nav station spaces give a bright feel in addition to cabin portlights and four large hatches. Four accent lamps and two reading lamps illuminate the space in addition to overhead lighting.
The galley is aft and to port, with a generous amount of counter space in a U-shaped arrangement. Fiddles surround the white Corian counters. At the forward, inboard end there are two drawer fridges and a front-loading fridge. A additional freezer is located beneath the starboard settee. The Force 10 propane three burner stove/oven is located outboard, with large top loading dry storage lockers under the counter fore and aft. A microwave is built in above the aft, outboard corner of the galley. A two bin stainless sink with single lever faucet/wand and fresh water tap is set in the aft counter space, with a dishwasher, drawers and large locker with trash bin below. Above the counter are lockers with separators for different size plates and glasswear. There is storage for twelve wind bottles at the inboard end of the forward counter.
The forward facing nav station is to starboard adjacent to the companionway stairs. The chart table has a lifting top, revealing storage below. A open locker and shelf outboard provide storage for regularly used items. The large Furuno radar/chartplotter screen, Furuno GPS display, B&G multi display and Garmin VHF radio are close at hand. 220v, 110v and 12v outlets are available. Outboard of the navigator’s seat is the DC electrical distribution panel with battery and tank monitors, alarms and graphical running light display.
Moving aft to the owner’s stateroom, there is a generously sized single bunk with lee cloth outboard. Bookshelves and lockers run along the hull side. At the head of the bunk is a accept lamp and reading light. There are 110v and 220v outlets available. A portlight opening into the cockpit provides some ventilation.
The guest head is located at the aft end of the passageway. The Jabsco Quiet Flush electric toilet is located outboard, with a counter aft and mirrored medicine cabinet above. A shower is integral to the space, using the wand from the sink. A teak tread covers the molded shower sump. Above and outboard of the toilet there is a locker housing the washing machine.
The aft stateroom has ample floor space with a true walk around berth. Windows in the hull sides, aft cabin, and opening ports and hatches make this cabin feel bright. To the side of the berth to port and starboard there are side tables with drawers below. Accent lamps and reading lamps are mounted on the bulkhead. Outboard along both sides of the hull there are two large lockers divided in the middle by a shelf and drawers below. There is additional storage beneath the cabin sole and in a locker at the forward end of the cabin – this is a custom arrangement replacing the desk as configured in the standard Amel 55 layout. As in the forward cabin, the entire bed hinges up to reveal a large storage area below.
The master stateroom head is accessed to port. Outboard there is a large counter with deep sink and single lever faucet. Mirrored locker doors conceal storage above and there are lockers below. A separate shower stall with solid door is located forward. A teak tread covers the shower sump. Outboard, there is a molded seat that fold to cover the toilet when the shower is in use.

The hull of the Amel 55 is finished in white gelcoat with a gold cove stripe and boot stripe with black antifouling paint. Tall, solid stainless handrails surround the deck from bow to stern with boarding gates amidships and at the stern. A folding swim platform provides easy access to the dinghy or the water. Sturdy Simpson Lawrence electric dinghy davits easily stow a generously sized tender. Solar panels are mounted on top of the davits. At the stern, a large lazarette locker provides a massive storage space to accommodate bicycles and other cruising gear. Additional storage space is available in lockers beneath the side decks and a large sail locker forward just aft of the anchoring gear. The decks are molded faux teak nonskid in the Amel style.
The center cockpit is well protected by the optional hard dodger. The centerline window opens to provide excellent ventilation in addition to hatches in the dodger top. A full winter enclosure provides good protection for the helm station in heavy weather and the retractable dodger roof provide additional sun protection for the cockpit when deployed. The forward bulkhead mounted helm station is a Amel signature, with a comfortable and secure seat and all navigation electronics, sail and system controls close at hand. The drop leaf cockpit table spreads to accommodate a full crew.

C’LUV shows “as new”. She was delivered in 2018 and shipped to the Pacific Northwest where she has been lightly used on protected inland waters. Total engine hours are 241, and this is saying something in a cruising ground notorious for light winds and current necessitating lots of motoring. In short, she is barely broken in.
Highly optioned, she features a full 110v North American electrical system as well as 220v systems, hydronic heat, air conditioning, upgraded generator and electronics packages, backup autopilot, electric furling, winches and davits, hard dodger, solar panels, sun awnings and cockpit enclosure and all the other popular options. With the desirable two stateroom layout in beautiful light oak, C’LUV presents a excellent opportunity – delivered and USA imported without the multi year wait.
