The hull and deck are generously laid-up by hand using bi-directional mat with Isophthalic resin (better resistance against osmosis) and substantially reinforced all around her long, encapsulated keel, the foot of which extends aft to provide support for the lower rudder pintle. This design helps keep ropes and debris away from the prop, while a cutaway forward helps speed up tacking and improve maneuverability under power. The topsides and deck of the Vancouver 34 Classic are sandwiched with end-grain balsa for insulation and weight reduction, and the hull deck join is both through-bolted and bonded over for watertight integrity.
Good wide side decks with high Teak capped bulwark secured by stainless steel pulpit, quarter pushpit's and stanchion posts with double guard wires. The deck and coachroof is laid with Treadmaster and the cockpit is laid with Teak. The cockpit is deep and secure with shaped bench seats to port and starboard and an aft shaped helm seat. The bench seats stop short of the wheel and have nice rounded ends to allow easy full width access aft. There is a large cockpit locker to port, stern lazarette under the helm seat and a gas bottle locker to port.
The interior fit out is to a high standard of craftsmanship and she has a rich homely feel.
