Designed by Finot Conq, interior by Nauta design and built by Chantiers Beneteau in 2017.
The Beneteau Oceanis 31 is an aft cockpit, wheel steered, fin keeled sloop with accommodation for 5/6 in 2 cabins plus the saloon.

Construction

White Grp hull, deck and superstructure. Dark grey style and boot lines. Moulded in non-slip on the deck. Teak laid cockpit seats and bathing platform. Tilting helm seat for access to bathing platform. Internal, structural GRP grid and joinery work in Alpi Fair Oak. Laminate work surface in galley. Teak effect toerail.

Engine

Yanmar 3YM 20, 20hp diesel engine. Flexibly mounted beneath companionway.  Fresh water cooled with heat exchanger. Electric start, single lever control. Reversing reduction gearbox, shaft drive to fixed pitch 3 bladed propellor. Rope cutter. Moulded skeg supporting shaft log. Regularly serviced by Shotley marina, last serviced in June 2022. Approx 410 hours.

From fwd:
Fwd cabin – Large v-berth with sliding in fill and stowage under. Storage locker to starboard. Shelving outboard. Mirror on forward bulkhead. Large opening hatch for ventilation with blackout blind.
Saloon – L-shaped saloon seating to port and settee berth to starboard. Large dining table with folding leaves. Lee cloth on the starboard settee making secure pilot berth for passagemaking. Stowage under seating and outboard in cave lockers.
Galley – to port with twin stainless steel sinks, H&C pressurised water, large fridge, 2 burner cooker with oven and lots of stowage in lockers and cupboards.
Heads – Large heads compartment with sea toilet, sink and shower. 80 litre black water holding tank with sea/deck discharge. Shower sump with 12v electric discharge overboard.
Aft cabin – Massive berth with reading lights and shelves outboard. Stern and cockpit hatches for light and ventilation. Hanging locker. Access to battery switches

Tankage

Fuel:                          130 litres – Rotomoulded tank
Freshwater:               130 litres – Rotomoulded tank
Hot water tank:          25 litres – heated by engine and 240v immersion
Holding tank:             80 litres

Electrics

12 volt system – 1 x 70ah engine start battery and 2 x 70ah domestic batteries. Charged by engine alternator and 220v shore power battery charger. Batteries renewed late 2021. 12v distribution panel. 12v interior lights. 12v Nav lights including bow, stern, steaming etc. 12v outlet in cockpit. 
220 volt system – Shore cable, connection, RCB. Various 220v outlets, 25ah battery charger
Immersion heater in hot water tank.

Mainsail – slab reefed, battened – Elvstrom – 2017
Genoa – Furling – Elvstrom – 2017
Jib – Furling 90% heavy weather/cruising – 2020 – Parker and Kay

Spars and rigging

9/10ths Fractional, deck stepped, single spreader, silver anodised alloy mast. Slab reefing boom. 1x19 stainless steel wire standing rigging. Polyester running rigging. Running rigging led aft through organisers and clutches to the cockpit. Alloy genoa fairlead tracks with adjustable cars.

Winches

2 x Harken 35 two speed Primary/genoa winches on coaming
2 x Harken 35 two speed halyard winches on coachroof.

Stainless steel open pulpit, stanchions and quarterguards. Gates on both sides. 700w electric anchor windlass. Brittany style anchor with chain and warp. Various mooring warps and fenders. Teak style toerail. Grab handles on coachroof. Grey folding sprayhood on stainless steel frame, grey wheelcover and folding grey full cockpit enclosure. Beneteau patented folding washboards. Steering pedestal with attachment for cockpit table. Removable cockpit table. Hot and cold cockpit shower. 2 x winch handle pockets. Stainless steel bathing ladder.

FYS Comments

Supplied by us new to her current Owner “Silver Teal” is a lovely example of the Beneteau Oceanis 31. She has clearly been maintained to high standard having originally been specified with a really good level of inventory.
“Silver Teal” is well worth coming to have a look at!
