company History

American brand Island Packet Yachts appeared in 1979. Its founder, Bob Johnson (Bob Johnson), finished mit on a speciality "Ship device" and for some time worked in the shipyards Irwin Yachts and Endeavour Yachts, not yet decided to build boats for their own projects.

Features

the Original design of the Island Packet combines U-shaped case with a classic long keel. This combination distinguishes the Island Packet from most: when Bob Johnson started to develop their own designs, boats with U-shaped housing was fitted with a short keel, a version with a long keel had romboobrazny form. By combining the two concepts, he was able to improve seaworthiness of the yacht, to maximize interior space, reduce sediment, to strengthen the body and protect the propeller and rudder. 70's years Bob Johnson has chosen as the main material for yacht tech fiberglass, and it is used to this day. The masts are made of carbon fiber.
