About Coupeville Wharf

This is a state district port and is a first come-first served marine facility. No advanced reservations can be accepted. Diesel and unleaded gasoline are for sale at the historic Coupeville Wharf (with discounts for sales over 100 gallons) where there is also a restaurant, a gift shop and a coffee shop selling limited boaters’ supplies. . There are mooring floats attached to the wharf (400 feet of temporary moorage) and four nearby Port-owned buoys. There are showers for boaters but no electricity or water is available at the floats or buoys. Situated at the western most end of Front Street in historic Coupeville, the old grain wharf, built in 1905, is a popular destination for recreational boaters and fisherman alike and features the skeletons of a grey whale, a Doll’s porpoise and a Steller sea lion as well as many marine life interpretive displays. The sheltered waters of Penn Cove provide ideal conditions for leisurely days and there are many popular local events. Coupeville has a myriad of shops offering anything from ice cream to antiques, and some of the best restaurants Whidbey Island has to offer.
